CW 5 plugin - build 5.0.4.10005 or later should set Retired Assets Inactive in CW. There was issue with initial .0002-.0004 build. If you are still having that issue with current and have not upgraded to CW 2013.1 yet - if you open support case I can check on the actual dll (we had a couple of iterations of the .0005 as we were trying to fix several items and possible you might not have the final 1.0005. If you upgrade to CW 2013.1 - must upgrade to CW 6 plugin to get any asset sync.
The symptom might be same with CW 6 plugin 6.0.0.33 - but the cause is actually different this time - asset management is all new with this plugin and we are also using some additional API modules CW has that were not being used in the past.
