Hi Scott,
With MIB files there are a lot of variables that you have to consider. When you load the LabTech Control Center, it will attempt to load all of the files in the L:\MIBS\RFC directory. In LabTech, all MIB files needs to have the extension .mib. If you add MIB files while the control center you can go to 'Main -> Probe Templates' and select 'Data -> Reload MIB Files'. If you have the necessary MIB for the devices and have access to the aforementioned directory then you should green checks next to OIDs when you perform an SNMP walk of a device. You will want to make sure to check the console for error messages related to loading OID values.
SNMP collection will work regardless of whether you have the necessary MIB files installed. MIB files provide interpretation for OID data on the device.
If you would like to automatically detect and collect data from a particular type of network device you would need to create custom SNMP Detection/Collection templates. There is documentation for each type of template as well as an example of the creation process. I highly recommend the webinars that I linked below because they cover the probe, SNMP collection, and SNMP trapping.
